The Canadian Picture Pioneers (CPP) is pleased to announce the appointment of Danish Vahidy as President and Darren Stokes as Treasurer, following a unanimous Board vote during ShowCanada in Banff.

About the new leadership
Danish, a CPP Board member since 2004, is Vice President of Marketing at Mongrel Media, where he oversees strategic campaigns and theatrical marketing for a wide range of acclaimed Canadian, independent and international films. Danish is a respected leader in Canadian film with over 30 years of experience in distribution and marketing.
Darren, a CPP Board member since 2007, is Vice President and General Manager (Canada) at Extreme Reach. With more than 30 years of experience across media, advertising, and entertainment services, he brings deep operational and industry expertise to the role.
Danish and Darren started the CPP’s annual Summer Palooza/Social event that has generated more than $140,000 since 2003.

The Canadian Picture Pioneers also extends its sincere thanks to outgoing President Greg Mason (Board member since 2006; President 2023–2026) and Treasurer Jason Fulsom (Board member since 2014; President 2018–2022; Treasurer 2022–2026) for their exceptional leadership and longstanding service.
Under Greg and Jason’s leadership, CPP experienced a period of significant growth, including expanded events, increased fundraising success, and continued organizational modernization.
Both will remain active on the Board as Vice Presidents, ensuring continuity during this transition.
All four leaders are recipients of the CPP Silver Spotlight Award, with Jason Fulsom named Pioneer of the Year in 2023.
