Student Assistance

Since 2003, the Trustees have provided financial assistance to students in need who are enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies. Each year, we receive hundreds of applications from qualified students seeking support to continue their education.

Applicants must answer detailed questions about their financial situation and submit a personal essay outlining their background, how the funding will assist them, and how their education will contribute to society. The majority of applicants work in movie theatres across Canada.

Eligible students enrolled full-time in an accredited Canadian college or university are invited to apply annually, provided they meet the current employment and program requirements. Full details, including eligibility criteria and application guidelines, are updated each year.

“Coming from a single-parent household, I’ve had to rely on loans for school. The CPP Student Assistance Award means that I will be able to finish school with less debt and it has made my family extremely proud.”
