Student Assistance Awards Program – NOW OPEN

The 2024 Canadian Picture Pioneers Student Assistance Awards process is now ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS until Thursday, September 12. Canadian Picture Pioneers is awarding up to $150,000 to students in financial need. Each of the 25 selected students has the chance to receive $6,000 for post-secondary education.

    I am/have been employed for a minimum of 1 year at the following company within the past 6 months.


    My parent/guardian/grandparent is/or has been employed at the following company for a minimum of 3 years within the past 6 months; or has retired from a minimum 5 year career in the film industry.



    Essay Submission

    In the below section, tell the judges about yourself, how the assistance award money will benefit you, career goals and how your life and education will benefit society. Details of your need for financial assistance must be included. Financial information should include current year school costs and any accumulated school debts. How you are currently paying for school costs, including any other education funding, scholarships and bursaries that you are receiving. The essay must also include information on any volunteer service with dates of volunteer activities.

    Explain why you need the financial assistance.

    Provide details on any volunteer activities.

    Provide detailed breakdown on your educational costs.

    In no less than 350 words, tell the judges about yourself and explain how any awarded assistance funds will be used and your career goals. Do not repeat information already included in above answers. Submit "Button" will not appear if word count is below 350.
